01 — Custom

Your idea, drawn from scratch

Bring a photograph, a scrap of an idea, or nothing but a rough feeling. We draw it and size it to the part of the body it is going on. You see it before anything is switched on.

Consultations are free. There is no hurry to book anything at the end of one.

02 — Cover-ups

The one you regret

An old name, a holiday mistake, something that has spread and gone soft. A cover-up is its own craft. The new design has to be built around what is already there, not dropped on top.

Come in and let us look at it. Some pieces cover cleanly. Others need lightening with a few laser sessions first, and we will say which one yours is.

03 — Black & grey

Portraits, animals, and everything shaded

Black and grey ages better than almost anything else. That is why so much of the work here is in it. Portraits, big cats, eagles, skulls, clocks, octopus and dragon work.

Colour is here too when a design calls for it. If you want something that still reads clearly in fifteen years, black and grey is usually the answer.

04 — Before the needle

Free consultations, walk-ins welcome

Most pieces start with a chat at the counter. We talk about size, placement and what the skin there will take. Then we draw it and book you in when you are happy.

What a piece costs comes down to its size, the detail in it, where it sits and how long the work takes. Bring the idea in or ring the studio, and you will have a figure before anything is booked.

Walk-ins are welcome when there is a chair free. For anything large, ring ahead.

05 — Piercing

From a first lobe to dermal anchors

The full range, including the ones a lot of places turn away. Dermal anchors and surface bars, alongside every standard ear, nose, navel and facial piercing.

Jewellery goes in sterile and the tools come out of a sealed pouch in front of you. You get the aftercare talk whether you want it or not. The first fortnight at home is when a new piercing is most likely to give trouble.

06 — Laser

Removal, and hair removal

Laser removal does two jobs. It takes a piece off completely, or lightens it enough for something better to go over the top. It works over a course of sessions spaced weeks apart, because the body clears the broken-up ink slowly.

Anyone promising one visit is selling you something. Laser hair removal is done here too, on the same booking system.

07 — Afterwards

How it heals is half the job

For the first fortnight a new tattoo is a wound. Keep it clean, keep it out of the sun, and do not pick at it. No baths and no swimming pools.

You go home with written aftercare and a number to ring. If something does not look right, bring it back in. We would sooner have a look than be told about it weeks afterwards.
